story behind the story

“Boogie (assistant) and I were having coffee in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn.
We love to chit chat about photographer greats like Phil Stern, Bob Richardson, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Cindy Sherman. Bogdan (we call him Boogie) comes from a long line of family printers. His childhood days were spent helping his grandfather print for Irving Penn. During these chit chats we often get inspired to shoot raw imagery with raw models who give their best. I heard about Shaun Ross through a friend of mine (Erik Schandel) @ APM
models. Erik told me, ‘Mark, Shaun is a mover, you will love him and he is meeting with V-Magazine tomorrow. So its a great time to shoot with him.’
We met Shaun and it was on! No doubt he was the man. ‘Sick’ is a story of a lone man’s journey through a world that has become more & more caught up in the sickness of judgment. ” – Mark Drew

Shaun Ross has arrived, and he’s brought the fire. This determined 17 year old from the Bronx is just an incredibly, curiously beautiful boy. Having already shot with the likes of Alasdair McLellan and David Armstrong, Shaun has proved he can rock long after the cameras stop by walking on the NY runways of Patrik Ervell and Hood by Air.
