How did you start your career?
I interned at Dazed and Confused before working at Another Magazine.
How would you describe your style?
Grungy, romantic, youthful.
What do you think is your best work so far?
My recent A/W preview for V Magazine with Mel Bles… out soon!
Is there anything about your work that you want to improve on?
I would like to work with bigger budgets on far off locations… but I think everyone does!
What sets you apart from other people in your profession?
I work a lot with documentary photographers and street cast as much as I can… I like my work to be character based and have a strong personal story. I try not to compare myself with other stylists too much, I just kind of get on with what I want to do.
How would you describe your view of the world?
Rose-tinted.
What music do you like to work to?
It depends really… if its a long day and I’m working in to the small hours there’s nothing like shameless cheese to lift people’s moods. I’m not ashamed to admit it!
Three people you would love to work with:
MGMT, Nick Knight, Collier Schorr
Where do you find inspiration?
Young people, old photographs, foreign cultures
What are you loving at the moment?
My house… it’s like a commune, we all work in creative fields and help each other on projects. I spent last night cutting out giant forest animals for my flatmate. He is building a set for a party. The day before he was making head pieces for one of my shoots. It’s like the Brady Bunch.
Film you think everyone should see:
The Ice Storm… and Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion.
Best advice you have ever been given?
Always answer the phone to your mother.
Many thanks to Stevie and the team at 2dm.it!
