Engineer’s survey photographs, a police mug shot, or an aerial reconnaissance image can be filled with as much sense of wonder as anything we create with deliberate photographic intent. The way photography functions as a recording device and the way it can contain or parse an idea about a thing or place… that is what keeps me looking.
