story behind the story
“The story began as a test shoot with Luca Schmitz from New York Models. Hairstylist Linh Nguyen and stylist Cliff Hoppus came up with a vaguely medieval look, so we decided to run with it and shoot a whole story of portraits based on pre-Renaissance Italian schools of thought (all with enigmatic names, like “The Academy Of The Frozen”). Casting was the most difficult step, because we wanted very modern boys who could also evoke the subjects of sixteenth century paintings. Getting the boys to sit still was the second most difficult step!” – Steven Chu

Not a big fan, while it feels stagnant, only the title picture looks like a frozen-in-time type portrait. The rest are kind of random, good styling though.

Timeless! Passive — even stern — portraits capture the essence of the soul. Now what does the previous really mean? Nothing. And there’s nothing “frozen” here. It’s simply a portrait; well done. Very well done! Congrats! =)
