How did you get into the agency business/what is your background?
I originally have a background in fashion retail. I was given the opportunity by Johanne Sebag to join City Models at the testing board department and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to pursue things further in that direction.

How many models do you represent?
We currently represent more than 50 models from new faces to famous.

What are the agency’s divisions?
The agency is 2 years old so although we already grew a name, it’s still quite young. There are no official divisions for the moment and we are taking it step by step focusing on developing our new faces.

First model signed?
Actually, not one but three! Natalia Semanova, Nastia Gorshkova, Ganna Baymyashkina.

Who are your top models?
The ones that we have on our board for direct booking.

Who are your ones to watch?
I would keep an eye on:
Margo Bushueva, Simona Vargova, Nanou Vandecruys and my Frenchie, Margot Vidalenc. And of course Natalia Siodmiak and Mariana Idzkowska.

What do you look for in a new prospect?
Someone that makes my heart skip a beat and sends shivers instantly when I look at her.

What is your development process?
I’d like to think I manage based on both hard work and feelings, developing strong and consistent images for the girls as well as building the notoriety of STAGE.

What sets you apart from other agencies?
Ask my models!

Describe the ideal STAGE model?
The one who takes modeling seriously.

What other agencies around the world have you formed close ties with?
There is Bernard in Paris who always give me a lot support! Also:
WOMEN Management (Paris)
GLAMOUR Model Management (Prague)
MODE Models (Calgary)
BUBBLE (Slovak Republic)

What do you look for in bookers, agents, scouts, etc. before hiring them?
I look for honest and reliable people.

Describe your local market:
Traditionally the Japanese market is looking for young blond “kawaii” teenage girl. With STAGE, I decided to ignore that and follow my instinct and work to develop a new approach to the market.

What type of work is there for a model in Tokyo, who are the biggest clients and photographers?
Just about everything: editorials, catalogues, beauty, tv commercials, shows…
Photographers: Taka Mayumi (based in Paris), Sasaguchi, Tisch, Ogata, and many more.

What type of “look” works best in your local market?
Due to my specific approach of the market, many looks are possible. I’m not too much into the “spring break” look.
